Dietes bicolour planted by students

Junior secondary students recently participated in a ‘tree planting’ day as part of a combined horticulture and SOSE class activity. Students have been studying an integrated unit on rainforests exploring forest types, the effects of deforestation, global warming, rainforest inhabitants and mapping.

One of the culminating activities for students was planting trees that were donated by the Brisbane City Council as part of Arbor Day celebrations.  The plants chosen for our school were all native species and the students did a great job beautifying our school gardens.
