Norman Creek Catchment benefits from BYETC plant donation

BYETC received some great news this week that the native plants students propagated for donation to the Norman Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee in 2018 have been planted out and are loving their new home on the creek bank near            Arnwood Place, Annerley.

The Catchment Group have indicated that the Acacias and Lomandras (pictured) which were donated are thriving, in what used to be a largely neglected area, where Council would mostly only spray the weeds – so it wasn’t very sustainable or attractive, and didn’t really support a lot of life.

Now it is a proper habitat area with a ground layer, shrub layer as well as the pre-existing trees.  The Catchment Group have noticed increase bird life there and even a little tree snake (a baby one, very cute!).
