Anglicare Pantry

Teacher Nick with the food donation pantry for Anglicare
BYETC construction students with the assistance of their teachers Nick and Rob have recently completed a freestanding pantry for donation to Anglicare SQ. The food pantry is to be used as an ongoing food collection point for donations from the several hundred Anglicare and diocesan staff who work in Brisbane.
This project was completed as part of the Certificate I in Construction program which has an emphasis on our young people giving back to the community. The young people settled on an Australian country scene to decorate the pantry as they did not want to put off vegetarians by including Australian native animals and other totems which normally feature in their art work.
BYETC hope the pantry will be used for many years to come to support the great work performed by Anglicare in assisting Brisbane’s homeless community.
